My Story

Being diagnosed with Brain Cancer recently (May) I can recall whilst running this Half Marathon last year I lost my balance at approx 14k mark not knowing that I had a tumour in my brain.
I did manage to finish last year however it was very much a “crawl” over the last 7k. Loss of balance - why would I even dream it might be a brain tumour?
I continued training to participate in another Half Marathon at the Whistler (Canada) 1st June 2019.
However the trip was cut short after being emergency evacuated from Kodiak (Alaska) and transferred to Seattle - University of Washington Medical Centre for brain surgery.
Upon arriving back in Hobart I was able to have another successful operation 4 weeks after the 1st operation and had approx 40% of the residual tumour removed.
Yes, our lives are now on a new journey - not as planned however making the very best of what we have ahead with each other.
Therefore I've created this page because I want to make a difference from my own very personal interest in establishing a cure.
I'm inspired by the work of Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and in awe of Carrie Bickmore’s (Carrie’s Beanie’s for Brain Cancer) outstanding contribution and awareness to this cause. Amazingly Carrie is also participating in this year’s event whilst fund raising and bringing more awareness about this disease.

My participation (walk) in the Knight Frank Point to Pinnacle 2019 provides me with a platform to raise funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation and I wanted to support the Foundation by raising money as part of my struggle and journey.
Although whilst currently undergoing joint Chemo/Radiation therapy some days I struggle to put one foot in front of the other - however I will cross the finish line one way or another.
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, a little means a lot to many today and tomorrow.
